Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka accused the BRS of deflecting blame onto the Congress despite a decade of failed governance, as water was released from the Paleru reservoir to the Nagarjuna Sagar canal on Monday.
Accompanied by Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, Vikramarka opened the gates at Paleru in Khammam district, allowing 400 cusecs of water to flow toward 2.5 lakh acres under the Sagar ayacut.
Speaking to media, Vikramarka said the Congress government prioritises farming, electricity, and irrigation projects. He blamed the previous BRS regime for endangering Telangana’s interests and ignoring Andhra Pradesh’s project expansions.
“KCR and his team KTR and Harish Rao were responsible for those failures,” he said. “They now resort to misinformation against us.”
He assured that the government will credit Rythu Bharosa funds directly to farmers before every agricultural season, with no delays.
