HYDERABAD: BJP MP Dharmapuri Arvind has alleged that Congress MLA Sudarshan Reddy is obstructing the establishment of a Navodaya Vidyalaya in Nizamabad Rural constituency.
Speaking at a press conference held at the BJP office in Nizamabad on Saturday, Arvind blamed Congress for the delay in setting up the school.
He revealed that the central government had approved the Navodaya Vidyalaya with an investment of Rs 100 crore. He criticized the Congress for pushing the project backward despite the availability of suitable land in Nizamabad Rural. Instead, he said, Congress was insisting on using the disputed land belonging to the Bodhan Sugar Factory for the school, which he called an absurd decision.
Arvind stated that land in Kaligot village of Jakranpalli Mandal is ideal for setting up the Navodaya Vidyalaya. He questioned how private lands, such as those of Nizam Sugars, could be allotted for the school. He further raised doubts about whether Congress had any real intention of reopening the Nizam Sugar Factory.
The MP also alleged that Sudarshan Reddy, who is involved in the liquor business, was trying to prevent the reopening of the Nizam Sugar Factory so he could set up his own ethanol plant. Dharmapuri Arvind accused the Congress government of blocking development projects and warned that the people would teach them a lesson for their actions.
Several BJP leaders, including Turmeric Board Chairman Palle Gangareddy, District President Dinesh Kulachari, and other party members, were present at the meeting.
