Mudiraj Bhavan construction begins in Tandur with state backing

Hyderabad: Telangana Animal Husbandry and Sports Minister Vakiti Sridhar on Friday laid the foundation stone for a new Mudiraj Bhavan in Tandur. He affirmed that the state government remains committed to the Mudiraj community’s welfare and future development.

The ceremony was held near the bypass road on the outskirts of Tandur. Tandur MLA B. Manohar Reddy and Mudiraj Corporation Chairman Jnaneshwar joined the minister. Local Mudiraj leaders also took part in the event.

₹50 lakh sanctioned for new Mudiraj facility

While addressing the gathering, Sridhar announced ₹50 lakh in sanctioned funds for the building’s construction. He reiterated the government’s resolve to support the Mudiraj community’s upward mobility.

Importantly, he pointed out that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy hails from Vikarabad district. As a result, he said, Tandur is set to see accelerated development across sectors.

Tandur to see irrigation, sports infrastructure boost

Together with MLA Manohar Reddy, Sridhar promised phased completion of all pending irrigation projects in the region. These upgrades, they said, would significantly expand the area under cultivation.

Moreover, they announced a ₹5 crore allocation for building an outdoor sports stadium in Tandur. The government will also establish SETWIN centres in every constituency to create self-employment opportunities for the youth.

In his remarks, Sridhar urged young people to stay away from harmful addictions and instead channel their energy into sports and productive activities.

Congress acknowledges Mudiraj support in 2023 polls

Later, MLA Manohar Reddy expressed gratitude for the Mudiraj community’s strong support during the 2023 general elections. He noted that hundreds of Mudiraj youth had mobilised in support of the Congress on November 24, helping secure victory.

According to Reddy, the community forms a major part of the BC population in Tandur. He also recalled their history of fighting for education, employment, and political representation.

The laying of the foundation stone, he said, marked the fulfilment of a poll promise made to the community.

A number of public representatives, government officials, Congress leaders, and community members attended the programme.
