Hyderabad: Acting on Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s instructions, Revenue, Housing, and Information & Public Relations Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy held a video conference with district collectors on Thursday from the Secretariat, along with Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao, to review the impact of heavy rains across Telangana.
The minister directed all collectors to remain alert and take preventive measures to avoid any loss of life or property. He sought detailed updates on conditions in each district and instructed immediate protective action in low-lying and flood-prone areas. With heavy rainfall forecast for the next three days, he ordered precautionary steps to be implemented without delay.
Ponguleti orders ₹1 crore aid per district for rain response
Ponguleti announced that ₹1 crore had been released to every district for relief operations. He instructed the GHMC to coordinate closely with municipal and traffic departments, as well as with the Metro Water Board, for efficient flood management in Hyderabad. All officials’ leave was cancelled to ensure full availability during the monsoon emergency.
