Hyderabad: Minister for Civil Supplies and BC Welfare Ponnam Prabhakar on Thursday inaugurated a series of development programmes in Venkapalli Syedapur mandal of Husnabad constituency. The projects, spread across four villages, focused on improving education, health, community infrastructure, and women’s welfare.
Villages benefit from new facilities and welfare measures
In Akunoor village, the Minister laid the foundation stone for a dormitory hall at the Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) school. He also launched repair works for school buildings and drainage canals with an estimated cost of ₹90 lakh. Alongside, he inaugurated an open gym built at a cost of ₹5 lakh and distributed steel almirahs to women’s self-help groups.
In Venkateshwarlapalli, he inaugurated another newly constructed open gym, also built at a cost of ₹5 lakh.
Budidapalli village saw multiple activities. Ponnam Prabhakar inaugurated an open gym, performed a land puja, and laid the foundation stone for a new Anganwadi building estimated at ₹12 lakh. He also handed over steel almirahs to women’s groups in the village.
In Eklaaspur, the Minister inaugurated a newly built gram panchayat building costing ₹20 lakh. As in the other villages, he also distributed steel almirahs to women’s groups.
The Minister said the government’s development focus includes both infrastructure creation and social support. He stressed that these projects would improve education, community facilities, and women’s empowerment in rural areas of Husnabad.
