National leaders greet President Droupadi Murmu on her 67th birthday, hail her service and leadership
Hyderabad: President Droupadi Murmu turned 67 on Friday and was greeted with warm wishes from leaders across the political divide. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, senior opposition figures, and several Union and state ministers extended birthday greetings, lauding her dedication to public service, social justice, and the welfare of the nation.
In a post on X, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “Warmest birthday wishes to Rashtrapati Ji. Her life and leadership continue to inspire crores of people across the country. Her unwavering commitment to public service, social justice and inclusive development are a beacon of hope and strength for everyone.”
“She has always worked to empower the poor and downtrodden. May she be blessed with a long and healthy life in service of the people,” Modi added.
Union Minister Kiren Rijiju also conveyed his wishes, describing Murmu as an exemplary figure. “Her remarkable stewardship & profound connection with the people exemplify her outstanding leadership. May this auspicious day bring boundless joy & prosperity,” he wrote on X.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also extended his greetings through X, saying: “Heartfelt birthday greetings and best wishes to the Hon’ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu ji. I wish you a long and healthy life.”
Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy hailed the President as a symbol of service, values, and social justice. In his message on X, he said: “Your life is an inspiring example of social justice, service, and values. I pray to God to bless you with excellent health, long life, and boundless energy for national service. May your guidance continue to lead the nation towards progress.”
Union Minister G Kishan Reddy praised her humility and dedication to the marginalised. “An epitome of humility & NariShakti, her dedication and commitment towards public welfare, social justice and upliftment of the marginalized community is a guiding light for all,” he said in his message on X.
President Murmu was born on June 20, 1958, in Uparbeda village of Mayurbhanj district, Odisha, and belongs to the Santhali tribal community. She served as the Governor of Jharkhand from 2015 to 2021 before becoming the 15th President of India on July 25, 2022.
Throughout her public life, she has remained focused on democratic values and the empowerment of disadvantaged communities.
