Rahul Gandhi meets Telangana leaders, congratulates Naveen Yadav

Hyderabad: Senior Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge congratulated the Telangana leadership on winning the Jubilee Hills bye-election. They credited the party’s coordinated campaign, led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, for the success.

Naveen Yadav, the winning candidate, visited the leaders in Delhi on Saturday. He was accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, PCC chief Mahesh Kumar Goud, and AICC in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan. During the meeting, they briefed the high command on the campaign strategy and the margin of victory.

The national leaders appreciated the team’s efforts. They urged Congress leaders to aim for similar results in upcoming elections across Telangana.

State leaders say Jubilee Hills result reflects public satisfaction

Speaking to the media, Mahesh Kumar Goud said the result signalled public satisfaction with Congress governance. According to him, the party’s two-year rule had gained positive response from voters.

He added that Congress would approach the upcoming GHMC and local body elections with confidence. Moreover, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka plan to discuss the schedule for these elections in the next Cabinet meeting.

Mahesh Goud also reaffirmed the party’s commitment to providing 42% reservations for Backward Classes. He said no other political party had demonstrated such consistency on this issue. Additionally, he criticised the BJP for creating hurdles in the reservation process.

He rejected Union Minister Kishan Reddy’s allegation that Congress used money to win. “Comments from leaders of a party that lost its deposit have no value,” Goud said.

Naveen Yadav, the MLA-elect, said he visited Delhi to thank senior leaders for their support. He also dismissed K.T. Rama Rao’s accusation that Congress workers attacked BRS members during the election.
