Hyderabad: BJP MLA T. Raja Singh on Wednesday launched a sharp attack on Union Minister and former state BJP president G. Kishan Reddy, accusing him of betraying the Backward Classes (BC) community in Telangana. After the Jubilee Hills bypoll candidate announcement, Raja Singh told reporters that Kishan Reddy had failed to protect BC interests in the party.
Chanting slogans like “Idemi rajyam, Idemi rajyam, Kishan Reddy rajyam,” Raja Singh mocked the Union Minister’s leadership and accused him of misleading the people.
Raja Singh accuses the BJP of ignoring BCs
The MLA alleged that BJP leaders talk about a BC Chief Minister every election but forget that promise afterwards. He said Kishan Reddy must explain where BCs truly stand within the BJP in Telangana.
Raja Singh noted that he had never raised caste-related issues earlier, focusing only on Hindutva. “But today I must speak,” he said, “because Kishan Reddy keeps using the BC card and cheating the community.” He continued his criticism, saying the minister’s actions had alienated many BC supporters.
Questions over Jubilee Hills bypoll outcome
Earlier this week, Raja Singh questioned Kishan Reddy on social media about how many votes he expected to lose in the Jubilee Hills bypoll. He said people were asking whether the minister wanted the BRS or the Congress to win.
The MLA pointed out that the Jubilee Hills Assembly segment comes under the Secunderabad Parliamentary constituency, represented by Kishan Reddy. Therefore, he warned, the bypoll result could directly impact the minister’s political standing in Telangana.
