Hyderabad: Munugode MLA Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy on Tuesday warned that neglecting his constituency’s development would be treated as a personal affront. He said Munugode’s growth would remain his priority over any political post.
Speaking at the inauguration of a new gram panchayat office in Elagala Gudem village, built for ₹20 lakh, he accused his party of failing to keep its promise of a ministerial post. He alleged that political “equations” and vested interests were blocking his entry into the Cabinet.
“When I was taken into the party, was it not known that we are two brothers? During the Parliament elections, when a second promise was made, was it not known again?” he asked, referring to his brother Komatireddy Venkat Reddy. He argued both were capable leaders and saw no reason why the Cabinet could not include them both.
Rajgopal Reddy likened his situation to “abandoning an ally after crossing the river.” He noted that Khammam district, with nine MLAs, had three ministers, while Nalgonda, with 11 MLAs, had the same. He urged the government to ensure Munugode’s growth, pointing out that it lagged behind others in the district.
He criticised the fall in public healthcare standards and accused private hospitals and schools of exploiting families with low incomes. He pledged to work for the welfare of such people, whether or not he held a ministerial position.
