Ramchander Rao slams Congress over BC quota betrayal

Hyderabad: BJP Telangana president Ramchander Rao accused the Congress government of betraying Backward Classes by diluting its BC quota promise made ahead of the Assembly elections.

Addressing a Maha Dharna organised by the BJP at Indira Park over BC quota, Ramchander Rao said the Congress had “trampled” on the BC rights it vowed to uphold in the Kamareddy BC Declaration. The protest demanded that the full 42% quota announced in the declaration be given exclusively to BCs.

Ramchander Rao condemned the inclusion of Muslims under the BC quota, calling it a “deceitful and dangerous misuse” of reservation policy. “This is not just betrayal. It’s a calculated fraud,” he said.

He dismissed the Congress’s right to question the BJP on BC issues, claiming it had lost moral ground. “The entire BC community in Telangana now stands with the BJP,” he said.

The BJP leader criticised Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and his ministers for frequent trips to Delhi, alleging that these had yielded no results. “Even Rahul Gandhi won’t give Revanth an appointment,” he said, mocking the Congress for what he described as another “drama trip” to Jantar Mantar.
