Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy will leave for Delhi today on a two-day visit to hold meetings with Union ministers and senior Congress leadership.
The Chief Minister’s Office has requested appointments with several Central ministers. Revanth is expected to push for Union government support for the Detailed Project Report (DPR) of Hyderabad Metro Rail Phase 2 and construction of the Regional Ring Road.
He is also set to meet Union Health Minister JP Nadda to address the state’s ongoing shortage of urea and other fertilisers. The Chief Minister will request immediate release of Telangana’s fertiliser quota in view of the current kharif crop season.
As part of the ongoing ration card distribution drive, Revanth Reddy will address a public meeting on July 14 in Tirumalagiri, under Thungathurthi constituency in Suryapet district. Invitations are being extended to Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi to attend the event.
The visit will also cover internal party matters. The Chief Minister will brief the Congress high command on unresolved factional disputes, the status of nominated posts, and implementation of development and welfare programmes by the state government.
Separately, the Telangana government has scheduled a week-long celebration titled Indira Mahila Shakti from July 12 to 18. Revanth will inform the party leadership about the initiative’s objectives and programme details.
He is expected to return to Hyderabad on Tuesday night.
