Hyderabad: Harish Rao demanded immediate job notifications and challenged Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to face citizens without police protection, accusing the government of issuing liquor notices instead of employment orders.
Former minister Harish Rao made the remarks on Thursday at a Congress event in Hyderabad to unveil unpaid job cards. He said the administration had released alcohol-related notifications two months earlier but failed to issue even one employment notification as promised in the job calendar. He asked whether the “job calendar” had produced a single hiring notice from the government.
Harish Rao accused the state leadership of offering “bogus” promises. He said the ruling party had advertised two lakh vacancies but had not filled them. He demanded that the government immediately complete recruitment for 200,000 posts. He also alleged selective nominations among some unemployed applicants and urged party workers to defeat Congress in Jubilee Hills.
demand for immediate notifications
Harish Rao urged vigorous action to deliver results. He recalled fighting Government Orders 29 and 55 in the assembly. He said he had spoken strongly then and would continue the fight on the assembly floor for recruits. He pledged that BRS would press for notifications across groups from JENCO and GPVO to police and deputy surveyors. He promised direct action and district-level unpaid card drives to unite young people.
On allocations and past claims, Harish Rao credited BRS with issuing 164,000 government posts. He accused the Congress dispensation of delaying Group 1 and Group 2 processes under pressure. He said BRS had set exams, administered physical tests, and completed selections, yet appointment letters were issued only after Revanth Reddy came to power. He added that although Revanth Reddy touted 60,000 hires, Congress had formally completed only about 10,000 appointments. Harish Rao called for completion of all pending recruitments immediately and pledged continued political pressure until vacancies were filled.
He concluded by calling party workers to an organised campaign. He promised that BRS would lead direct protests and would support affected youth in every district.
