Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Saturday inaugurated an Advanced Technology Centre (ATC) at the Mallepally ITI campus and simultaneously launched 65 ATCs across the state virtually. The government converted ITIs into ATCs to combine academics with technical training.
Revanth Reddy told students that education alone was not enough without skill development. To strengthen employability, the state held discussions with Tata. He underlined the need for practical knowledge along with academic learning.

The Chief Minister announced that the government spent ₹2,400 crore on the project. With determination, he said, nothing was impossible, and Tata’s partnership helped develop the centres. Automobile businesses, he added, told him they struggled to find skilled workers. The state would soon establish another 53 centres, taking the total to 116 ATCs.

Reddy warned students that even an engineering degree would be useless without technical expertise. Criticising the previous government, he said ten years were wasted due to negligence, leaving youth aspirations unfulfilled. He stressed that education could change destinies but cautioned students not to assume software courses alone secured jobs.
Each ATC student would receive a ₹2,000 stipend. Reddy also warned against drug abuse, noting that some students had turned to ganja trade, which caused deep pain to their families.
