Hyderabad: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy reviewed urban administration and planning at the Command Control Centre on Tuesday, directing top municipal officials to initiate structural reforms aimed at achieving a pollution-free Hyderabad.
He instructed departments to draft long-term strategies addressing infrastructure and pollution over a 25-year horizon. Priorities include developing underground drainage and power cabling systems, particularly in the core urban region.
Revanth Reddy called for permanent solutions to pollution in central Hyderabad and urged comparative studies of urban issues in Delhi, Bengaluru, and Chennai to prevent similar outcomes in the city.
The Chief Minister also emphasised the need to scale up civic infrastructure to meet future urban demands.
The review was attended by CM’s advisor Vem Narender Reddy, Special Chief Secretary Jayesh Ranjan, MA&UD Secretary Manik Raj, MA&UD (HMDA) Secretary Elambarthi, HMDA Commissioner Sarfaraz Ahmad, GHMC Commissioner RV Karnan, HYDRAA Commissioner Ranganath, FCDA Commissioner K. Shashanka, HMWSSB MD Ashok Reddy, Executive Director Mayank Mittal, MRDCL MD EV Narasimha Reddy, JMD Gowtami, and other senior officials.
