CM Revanth Reddy reviews Telangana railway projects, calls for industrial rail corridor

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Thursday reviewed pending and proposed railway projects in Telangana with senior railway officials at the Command Control Centre. He emphasised that all future projects must align with the state’s industrial and connectivity needs.

CM pushes for Vikarabad–Krishna line, industrial rail corridor

The Chief Minister instructed officials to speed up the proposed Vikarabad–Krishna railway line. He also called for a dedicated industrial rail corridor. The line would connect Bharat Future City to Bandar Port via Amaravati, running parallel to the planned greenfield highway.

Regional ring rail and bullet train link

Revanth Reddy stressed the importance of a regional ring rail to support long-term urban and industrial growth. He asked officials to examine new line proposals that can meet future demand. In addition, he suggested a new alignment for a bullet train between Shamshabad and Chennai. This option, he said, would reduce travel distance compared to the existing route.

Senior officials attend review

The review meeting was attended by MP Kadiyam Kavya, CM’s advisor Ven Narender Reddy, and Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao. TR&B Special Secretary Vikas Raj, CM’s Principal Secretary Srinivasa Raju, Finance Secretary Sandeep Kumar Sultania, and South Central Railway GM Sanjay Kumar Srivastava also joined the discussions.
