Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy said his government is committed to empowering farmers cultivating barren lands by providing them with solar pump sets. Speaking at a public meeting in Macharam village, Nagarkurnool district, he launched the ₹12,600 crore Indira Soura Grameena Jalavikasam scheme aimed at enhancing rural water and energy access.
The Chief Minister grew emotional while addressing the crowd in Nallamala, a region he described as his birthplace. He recalled promising during the campaign to make Achampet a model constituency and said concrete steps are now underway.
“As your son, I’m personally involved in crafting a development plan for this constituency,” Revanth Reddy said, adding that he has already directed officials to execute the solar pump distribution within the next 100 days. Every farmer in Achampet will receive a pump set, he affirmed.
Contrasting his administration with the previous government, he said those who fought for cultivation rights on barren lands were jailed earlier. “Now, we are working to empower them,” he said. He added that the station would be a national example, with all necessary funds sanctioned.

Revanth Reddy outlined the broader impact of his welfare programmes, claiming ₹60,000 crore has already been spent on farmers. He also highlighted key initiatives such as the distribution of fine rice to 3.1 crore poor citizens, 200 free electricity units to 50 lakh low-income families, and free RTC bus travel for women who he symbolically described as “owners” of the buses.
Further, 1,000 MW of solar energy production has been assigned to women self-help groups. “We want women to challenge industrial giants like Adani and Ambani,” he said, promising financial and business support.
Reiterating his vision of making Telangana the most prosperous state in India, Revanth Reddy noted that 60,000 government jobs have been provided within a year, which he called unprecedented. He said essential commodities have been stabilised in price and the central government has recognised Telangana as a leader in welfare.
He criticised social media misinformation, saying, “I don’t respond to those with venom in their minds. Our schemes speak for themselves.” He added that the public can now identify real benefits from rice and electricity to bus travel as government initiatives.
“When farmers see their passbooks, they remember this government waived their loans,” he concluded.
