Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Friday accused the previous BRS government of defaming revenue department employees by portraying them as thieves and criminals.
Speaking at the “Koluvula Pandaga” programme at Hitex, Hyderabad, the Chief Minister distributed appointment orders to newly recruited Grama Palana Officers (GPOs). Ministers Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and Seethakka, Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar, CM Advisor Vem Narender Reddy, government advisors Shabbir Ali and Harkara Venugopal, Council Chief Whip Mahender Reddy, legislators, and senior officials were present.
Revanth slams previous BRS govt for Dharani, revenue staff scapegoating
Revanth Reddy alleged that the BRS regime used the Dharani portal to manipulate land and then shifted blame onto VROs and VRAs, creating a false narrative of corruption. “Revenue employees played a crucial role in the Telangana movement and in the Congress government’s formation. They should now protect the government’s credibility by implementing the Bhu Bharati Act and resolving land title disputes. This is about dignity,” he said.
The Chief Minister charged that the earlier government deliberately made revenue staff scapegoats. “You now have the opportunity to erase that negative image. Expose the wrong policies of the previous regime and prove your commitment to serving the people,” he told the employees.
Revanth urged revenue staff to engage directly with citizens and rebuild trust in governance. He said the Congress government would restore respect to government employees while addressing systemic land issues neglected for years.
