Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy warned senior officials of strict action for delays in executing government schemes and development works.
During a high-level review meeting with the Chief Secretary and senior CMO officials, the Chief Minister expressed strong dissatisfaction with the poor performance of Principal Secretaries, Secretaries, and Heads of Departments. He said that despite nearly two years of Congress governance, several departments had failed to meet expectations. Revanth urged officials to align their work with the government’s development goals and public commitments.
He also cautioned officers against unilateral decisions that could damage the government’s reputation. Stressing the need for accountability, Revanth directed department heads to strengthen coordination and speed up welfare programme delivery.
Revanth orders weekly progress reviews on central grants
The Chief Minister instructed Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao to collect weekly progress reports from all departmental secretaries. He asked the CMO to identify and resolve administrative hurdles that delay the implementation of key schemes.
Further, Revanth reviewed the status of central grants and directed officials to focus on schemes where the state’s contribution was already released but central funds were still pending. He called for immediate follow-up with the Union ministries to secure these grants under centrally sponsored programmes.
The Chief Minister concluded by stating that his office would personally monitor departmental progress every week and ensure transparent, timely execution of all schemes.
