Hyderabad: The Telangana government sanctioned Rs 2,500 crore to beautify lakes around Sangareddy, said Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TGIIC) Chairperson and former MLA Nirmala.
On Wednesday, Nirmala and Jaggareddy toured 15 lakes under the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) limits. They travelled 30 kilometres by bike to inspect the water bodies. Nirmala said they would soon present the plan to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy.
Sangareddy lakes beautification plan under review
Officials from HMDA, irrigation, and revenue departments joined the visit, along with consultancy representatives. Acting on HMDA’s directive for a Detailed Project Report (DPR), the team examined each lake and suggested improvements.
Nirmala explained that proposals include widening bunds by 25 meters and building necklace roads. The plan also covers walking tracks, Bathukamma ghats, dobi ghats, and immersion points for Ganesh idols. In addition, boating, lighting, and parks for children will be developed.
Chief Minister to launch Sangareddy lake works
She said Chief Minister Revanth Reddy will visit Sangareddy soon to launch the beautification works. The leaders stressed that the project would improve both the environment and public spaces in the district.
