Minister Seethakka highlights Revanth’s plan to make 1 crore women millionaires

Hyderabad: Telangana Minister for Women & Child Welfare, Seethakka, on Tuesday said Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is working to fulfil the vision of making one crore women millionaires, announced at the Mahila Shakti Sammelan at Velam Welfare Bhavan, Komaridi town.

Quoting Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, she said, “Society progresses only when women progress,” and stated that the Congress government was implementing this principle through women’s empowerment.

Noting new avenues opened for women, she said they are being supported to launch solar-energy businesses and petrol pumps. Free travel on RTC buses is only the beginning—many women have now become bus owners.

She added that women’s groups earned ₹30 crore last year by stitching uniforms for government schools. The state government is also considering providing women organisations with storage space and sourcing essentials for government hostels.

During the event, Seethakka presented cheques totaling ₹20.56 crore to the District Women’s Federation under bank-linked loans; ₹5.28 crore in interest concessions to local women’s groups; ₹22 lakh under credit insurance; and ₹30 lakh (₹10 lakh per family) for families of three deceased women members under accident insurance.
