Hyderabad: A seven-year-old boy died after being run over by his father’s tractor in Rajula Kotapally village of Mahabubabad district on Sunday, police said.
The boy, Varun, was the youngest of three children of Suranna and Prasad. The family had gone to their farmland for tilling, taking the children along.
According to police, the children were playing in the field while the parents looked on. Suranna later stepped off the tractor to work, leaving Prasad to continue ploughing with the children still on board.
While Prasad operated the tractor, Varun fell from it and was pulled under the rotavator, dying on the spot. His body was badly mangled in the accident.
The parents were left in shock, unable to speak as they saw their son die before their eyes. The village went into mourning after news of the death spread.
Police reached the location, registered a case, and began an investigation.
