Hyderabad: The Students Islamic Organisation (SIO) has condemned the Telangana Chief Minister’s comment linking Muslims with the Congress party. The group described the statement as divisive, insulting, and damaging to democratic values.
The Chief Minister had said, “Congress hai toh Musalman hai, Congress nahi toh aap kuch nahi.” According to SIO, this remark attacked the dignity and self-respect of the Muslim community. The organisation called it politically irresponsible and unacceptable in a democracy.
SIO condemns Telangana Chief Minister for divisive remark
A community’s strength, SIO said, rests on its own values and honesty, not on the favour of political powers. The group noted that the Chief Minister’s comment reflected a feudal mindset and a vote-bank attitude that weakens moral principles.
SIO demanded that the Chief Minister withdraw his words and issue a public apology. It said such language goes against the spirit of constitutional equality and harmony.
The organisation also urged the Election Commission of India to take note of the statement. It termed the remark inflammatory and said it violates the idea of free and fair elections. Such behaviour, SIO warned, harms public trust in democratic institutions.
