Sunitha Lakshma Reddy slams Congress, asks if ‘Indiramma Rajyam’ means insulting women

Hyderabad: BRS MLA and former minister Sunitha Lakshma Reddy has questioned whether the Congress government’s so-called “Indiramma Rajyam” is, in practice, about insulting women in Telangana.

BRS MLA accuses Congress of harassing women officers

At a press conference on Monday, Sunitha alleged that ministers are calling women officials to their residences for reviews and treating them disrespectfully. She said such behaviour reflects a troubling shift from the respect shown during the previous BRS government.

She also confirmed that a formal complaint has been filed with the State Women’s Commission. The commission has been asked to investigate these incidents.

Journalist attacks and Kothagudem case cited

The MLA further raised concerns over recent attacks on women journalists and the abuse of a tribal woman in Kothagudem. She said these incidents show the Congress government’s failure to protect women.

She accused the government of ignoring women MLAs, party workers, and reporters. “Don’t violate women’s rights in Telangana in the name of Indiramma Rajyam,” she warned.
