Hyderabad: The Telangana government approved a hike in ticket prices for actor and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan’s much-awaited film OG, which is set to release worldwide in three languages on September 25. The state issued formal orders allowing higher ticket rates for a limited period.
Telangana allows the OG movie ticket hike
According to the orders, single-screen theatres in Telangana can charge ₹100 extra per ticket, while multiplexes can add ₹120. The revised rates will remain in effect for ten days from the release date.
Meanwhile, the Andhra Pradesh government also cleared a price hike for the same film. The Home Department issued a memo granting permission for theatres to charge special rates from September 25 to October 4.
In Andhra Pradesh, the government allowed a midnight premiere on September 25 with a ticket price of ₹1,000. Regular shows in single-screen theatres will cost ₹125, while multiplexes can charge ₹150 during the approved period.
Pawan Kalyan fans welcome the decision
The announcement sparked excitement among Pawan Kalyan’s fans, who have been eagerly awaiting the release of OG. Directed by Sujeeth and produced by DVV Danayya, the film stars Priyanka Mohan in the lead role opposite Pawan Kalyan. Music director Thaman composed the soundtrack.
