Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy sought financial and cabinet clearance to begin works on the Regional Ring Road (north part), where 90 per cent land acquisition has been completed.
During his Delhi visit on Tuesday, the Chief Minister met Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari and urged approval for the state’s Detailed Project Report (DPR) on the Regional Ring Road (south part) as per national highway norms.
Requests for new highways under the Regional Ring Road projects
Revanth Reddy appealed for the Raviryala–Amangal–Mannanur stretch to be developed as a four-lane greenfield road. He also requested clearance for a four-lane elevated corridor between Mannanur and Srisailam (NH 765).
The Chief Minister further sought national highway status for a new greenfield road between Hyderabad and Mancherial. Additionally, he pressed for approval of a 12-lane greenfield expressway connecting Hyderabad’s Bharat Future City to Bandar port via Amaravati.
Gadkari’s assurances on approvals
Revanth Reddy urged the immediate sanction of road projects worth ₹868 crore under the Central Road and Infrastructure Fund (CRIF). Gadkari responded positively, assuring that CRIF works would be cleared within a week.
He also promised to send ministry officials to Hyderabad for review of the proposed Bharat Future City–Amaravati–Bandar port expressway. The Chief Minister informed Gadkari that a review meeting with NH and NHAI officials will be held in Hyderabad on September 22.
