Telangana to offer free land for North East annexure complex in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy announced that the state will provide land free of cost for the construction of the North East annexure complex at Bharat Future City in Hyderabad. The initiative aims to strengthen Telangana’s institutional and cultural ties with the eight Northeastern states.

Telangana to support Northeast with dedicated infrastructure

During the Telangana–North East India Connect festival, themed “Confluence of Cultures – A Pathway to Prosperity,” the Chief Minister pledged full state support. Each Northeastern state will receive assistance to build its own unit in the upcoming complex. Additionally, he called on Governor Jishnu Dev Varma to lead efforts in setting up India’s first such annexure center in Telangana.

Cultural facilities and cooperation with central agencies

The planned complex will include hostels, dining halls, and cultural spaces. These will highlight the heritage of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura. Furthermore, the Chief Minister assured cooperation with the Union Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region to ensure the project’s success.

Deepening personal and administrative connections

Revanth Reddy highlighted a symbolic connection: Tripura Governor Jishnu Dev Varma now serves in Telangana, while Telangana’s Nallu Indrasena Reddy governs Tripura. He described this exchange as evidence of longstanding mutual respect and deepening ties.
