Hyderabad: The Telangana government has released Rs 51.528 crore to support farmers reeling from crop losses caused by relentless hailstorms and unseasonal rains over the past two months.
After a meticulous survey by the Agriculture Department, officials reported that 41,361 farmers across 29 districts suffered damage to 51,528 acres of crops.
To ensure quick relief, the government has ordered in-depth field assessments to facilitate direct bank transfers of compensation funds.
Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao called on officials to team up with other departments and prioritize swift action, stressing the urgency of helping farmers get back on their feet.
