Hyderabad: The Telangana Cabinet, led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, approved a large-scale solar power rollout across the state, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said on Saturday.
He held a video conference from the Dr B.R. Ambedkar Secretariat with district collectors to review two key initiatives: installing solar plants on government buildings and executing the Indira Solar Tribal Development Scheme on RoFR lands. He told collectors to send parking and canteen plans of collectorate offices to Hyderabad for standardised layouts. Since all collectorates share a common design, the state will issue uniform installation plans from Hyderabad.

Bhatti said solar plants will be installed in every state government office, from gram panchayat buildings to the Secretariat, to boost large-scale electricity generation. He ordered collectors to send full details to the Energy Department’s Principal Secretary within a week.
The project will also include government schools, junior colleges, degree colleges and universities. Bhatti stressed that details of these institutions must be sent without delay. He called the Indira Solar Tribal Development Scheme a state priority and urged strict adherence to deadlines.
Energy Department officials joined the review meeting along with district collectors.
