Hyderabad: Telangana Welfare Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar on Monday said the State will submit a report to the Centre to claim pending Telangana welfare funds. The announcement followed a departmental review at the Secretariat with senior officials.
The meeting included the State Chief Secretary and Principal Secretaries from the Social Welfare Department. Officials reviewed the status of central grants and prepared a report for immediate submission to the Union Government.
Laxman Kumar blamed the previous government for ignoring the issue. He said this failure had stalled key welfare programmes meant for low-income families. “Due to their negligence, essential services were lost,” he added.
Since taking charge, the Minister said he has reviewed each scheme to make them more effective. He underlined the government’s priority to improve infrastructure in SC, ST, and Minority Gurukul schools.
“Education must never be sidelined,” he said. He promised better school facilities and committed to improving meal quality in residential institutions. The State, he noted, would allocate necessary funds without delay.
Moreover, Laxman Kumar announced that he would soon travel to Delhi. He plans to submit the report in person and push for the quick release of pending funds.
