Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu showcased Telangana’s tourism potential at the Tourism Conclave on Saturday. He described the state as a paradise for visitors, citing its natural landscapes and cultural richness.
Telangana Rising drives tourism revival
Bhatti said Telangana, nestled between the Krishna and Godavari rivers on the Deccan plateau, features lush forests, flowing rivers, and picturesque terrains. These assets are now drawing global attention. He criticised previous governments for failing to promote the state’s tourism appeal internationally.
However, under the ‘Telangana Rising’ campaign, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s government is taking a unified approach to rejuvenate the sector. Bhatti emphasised that the entire Cabinet is actively supporting tourism development.
Hyderabad stands out in climate, safety, and culture
The Deputy CM noted Hyderabad’s pleasant climate, secure environment, and multilingual culture as key advantages. He added that the city’s thriving IT industry and dynamic film sector continue to attract global visitors.
Importantly, he pointed to Telangana’s cultural diversity as a valuable strength. He explained that the state is now focusing on wellness centres, eco-tourism, and medical tourism to diversify its offerings.
₹50,000 crore investment boosts sector growth
According to Bhatti, tourism investments in the state have crossed ₹50,000 crore. He reassured stakeholders that the government is fully committed to protecting tourists and supporting investors.
He concluded by stating that Telangana’s tourism goals extend beyond revenue. The broader aim is to position the state as a gateway to India’s cultural heritage.
