HYDERABAD: The Telangana government has unveiled a comprehensive strategy to ensure an uninterrupted power supply during the upcoming summer months, addressing the anticipated surge in electricity demand across the state.
Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu recently held a high-level review meeting with officials from the Southern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Limited (SPDCL) at the B R Ambedkar Secretariat. The discussions focused on analyzing last year’s power consumption trends, forecasting this year’s energy requirements, and developing strategies to efficiently manage the increased electricity load.
Strengthening Power Infrastructure
As part of its proactive approach, the state has installed 2,282 additional transformers in various districts. This step aims to prevent power disruptions and maintain a stable electricity supply, particularly during peak summer consumption periods.
Furthermore, district-level inspections of the power distribution network are being conducted to assess infrastructure readiness. These inspections help in identifying potential weaknesses and addressing them before they cause major power outages. Officials have been directed to take immediate corrective measures wherever necessary.
Ensuring Reliable Power for All Sectors
The Telangana government has reiterated its commitment to providing reliable electricity to all sectors, including domestic, agricultural, and industrial consumers. The administration is focused on ensuring that farmers, households, and businesses do not face any disruptions due to increased demand.
By implementing these preventive measures, the state aims to sustain an uninterrupted power supply, thereby safeguarding the well-being and productivity of its residents.
