Telangana discusses major urban projects with ADB delegation

Hyderabad: Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao on Friday briefed an Asian Development Bank (ADB) delegation on the Telangana government’s key urban projects under Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.

The meeting took place at Dr B.R. Ambedkar Secretariat. Rao presented major initiatives such as Young India Integrated Schools, the Musi River beautification project, and road expansion across the state. He also highlighted plans for the proposed Young India Skill and Sports University.

Under the Telangana Rising 2047 vision, the state has proposed several projects. These include Hyderabad Metro Rail Phase II, upgraded school infrastructure, and new sewerage plants in Greater Warangal and other cities. In addition, agricultural pump sets will be linked to solar energy through a clean and green policy.

Officials also discussed the rollout of electric buses by the transport department. Moreover, they reviewed funding and planning for the new Skill and Sports University. Both sides agreed to accelerate these projects through close cooperation.

Rao stressed that Telangana offers a strong investment climate. He noted that the state ranks among India’s fastest-growing regions.

Senior officials join ADB meeting on Telangana urban development

Several senior officials took part in the discussions. These included Roads and Buildings Special Chief Secretary Vikas Raj, Energy Secretary Naveen Mittal, Planning Secretary Jyothi Buddha Prakash, and Municipal Secretary T.K. Sridevi. Education Secretary Yogita Rana, Metro Rail MD N.V.S. Reddy, TGIIIC Director Shashank, Water Works MD Ashok Reddy, and Musi Riverfront MD E.V. Narasimha Reddy also attended.
