Hyderabad: A group of unidentified assailants carried out a robbery on board the Chengalpattu Express near Komali railway station in Anantapur district early Tuesday morning.
According to police, the attackers severed the signal cable to force the Mumbai–Chennai train to halt near Komali. Once the train stopped, the gang entered one of the coaches and threatened passengers at knifepoint, looting cash and gold ornaments.
Passengers later filed a complaint at the Renigunta railway police station. Authorities have begun investigating the incident.
