Hyderabad: Minister for Roads & Buildings and Cinematography Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Wednesday announced that the Uppal Narapally elevated corridor will be completed by Dasara 2026. The project is a key infrastructure link on the busy Uppal–Warangal route. It aims to reduce congestion for both daily commuters and pilgrims heading to Medaram.
He instructed officials from the Roads & Buildings Department, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), and the executing agency to meet construction deadlines without fail.
BT road works progressing to ease traffic congestion
To provide immediate relief, the government launched bituminous (BT) road works along the corridor route. So far, workers have completed 1.5 km of the planned 5.5 km stretch. Moreover, Komatireddy confirmed that the entire BT road will open to the public before the upcoming Medaram Jatara. This biennial tribal festival attracts lakhs of devotees.
In addition, the Minister said that construction teams are working in two shifts daily to ensure steady progress. “Despite challenges, we are pushing ahead without pause,” he affirmed.
Uppal Narapally elevated corridor key to long-term mobility
Komatireddy emphasized that the elevated corridor will play a critical role in resolving long-standing traffic issues on the Hyderabad–Warangal highway. Therefore, he reiterated the government’s commitment, under the leadership of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, to deliver the project on schedule. “Public convenience is our top priority,” he stated.
Once complete, the corridor will significantly improve traffic flow, reduce travel time, and enhance road safety across the corridor’s span.
