Hyderabad: Former Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu extended greetings to the people on the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti and Kartika Pournami on Wednesday, urging citizens to embrace compassion, discipline, and service in their lives.
In his message on X, Naidu conveyed his “heartiest greetings” to Sikh brothers and sisters on Guru Nanak Jayanti. He said the light of Guru Nanak’s teachings should inspire kindness and compassion while guiding society toward inclusiveness and equality.

Extending his wishes for Kartika Pournami, Naidu said the festival represents the triumph of light over darkness and the removal of ignorance. He explained that the festival reminds people of the importance of discipline and the deeper meaning behind food habits.
Naidu added that Kartika Pournami highlights the value of service and charity in both spiritual and social life. He hoped everyone would understand its essence and seek divine blessings for peace and prosperity.
