Hyderabad: A woman from Karimnagar allegedly used YouTube to research ways to kill her husband, eventually directing her lover to execute the plan using pesticide.
Sampath, 45, a sweeper at the district library, was supporting his wife Ramadevi and their two adult children. Ramadevi sold sarvapindi snacks. She reportedly became involved with Karre Rajaiah, 50, a frequent customer.
As their affair deepened, Ramadevi allegedly decided to eliminate Sampath and searched online for murder methods. According to police, she came across videos suggesting that pouring pesticide into the ear can be fatal. She then proposed this method to Rajaiah.
The affair led to a murder plan from a YouTube tutorial
On July 31, Rajaiah invited Sampath for drinks near the Bommakal flyover. Ramadevi and Rajaiah’s friend Srinivas also joined. Once intoxicated, Sampath collapsed. Police said Rajaiah poured pesticide into his ear while he was unconscious and informed Ramadevi over the phone once Sampath died.
The next day, Ramadevi lodged a missing person’s complaint. On August 1, the trio led police to Sampath’s body.
Suspicion grew when Ramadevi asked police to skip the post-mortem. Investigators reviewed call records, phone locations, and CCTV footage. All three suspects – Ramadevi, Rajaiah, and Srinivas – were detained and confessed during questioning.
They were arrested and sent to judicial custody.
