Azharuddin gets Minority Welfare, Public Enterprises portfolios

Hyderabad: The Telangana government has assigned the portfolios of Minority Welfare and Public Enterprises to Minister Mohammad Azharuddin. Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao issued the official orders on Tuesday with the Governor’s approval.

These departments were previously under Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, who continues to hold key portfolios including Municipal Administration, Urban Development, General Administration, and Law and Order.

Azharuddin’s appointment marks a reshuffle in the cabinet’s welfare-related responsibilities. The Minority Welfare portfolio was earlier handled by Minister Adluri Laxman, who was inducted into the cabinet in June and now retains charge of SC, ST, Disabled, Elderly Welfare, and Transgender Empowerment.
