BRAOU signs MoU with Commonwealth of Learning to launch digital education academy

Hyderabad: Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University (BRAOU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Commonwealth of Learning (COL) on Monday to establish a digital education academy in Telangana. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy witnessed the signing.

Through this partnership, BRAOU aims to become a leading digital university. The academy, named iDEA, will serve as a technology-driven hub to improve teaching, learning, and research. It will help deliver quality education using digital tools and global resources.

Telangana aims to create a future-ready knowledge hub

During the event, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said his government is ready to transform the state’s education system. He emphasized that Telangana plans to upgrade its universities and turn BRAOU into a knowledge hub equipped for the digital future.

Moreover, the Chief Minister briefed COL President and CEO Peter Scott about ongoing education reforms in the state. He also reiterated the government’s commitment to open and accessible digital learning.

Officials join hands to boost digital learning across Telangana

Several key figures attended the MoU ceremony. These included COL President Peter Scott, Government Advisor K. Keshava Rao, BRAOU Vice Chancellor Ganta Chakrapani, and CM’s Special Secretary Ajith Reddy.

According to officials, this collaboration will accelerate digital transformation in higher education. It will also allow more students to access flexible, technology-enabled learning options across Telangana.
