Hyderabad: Telangana Sports Minister Vakiti Srihari announced that CM Cup 2025 would be conducted from the grassroots level to identify and encourage rural sports talent. He reviewed arrangements with District Youth and Sports Development Officers at Gachibowli Stadium on Thursday.
The minister said the tournament would be organised in a festival-like atmosphere, featuring Sports Torch Rallies in every Assembly constituency. He stressed that the Cup would not remain a routine exercise but would become a statewide people’s movement.
CM Cup 2025 Telangana sports talent hunt across districts
Srihari explained that MLAs, district collectors, officials, sports associations, PETs and physical directors would be involved, cutting across party lines. Competitions would not stay limited to Hyderabad but spread across all erstwhile districts. Popular local games would receive priority to ensure mass participation.
He stated that details of every participant would be documented to track performance and open opportunities in sports and education. Certificates issued through the CM Cup would carry weightage in academic and career prospects. He announced that the five best-performing districts would be recognised and rewarded, while negligence in organisation would invite strict action.
The minister praised officials working sincerely despite hurdles. “With strong determination and the encouragement of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, step-by-step sports development can be achieved,” he said.
