Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka led a detailed review of ongoing Krishna basin irrigation initiatives including the Palamuru‑Rangareddy and Gandhi‑Kalwakurthy lift schemes. He called for accelerated progress and timely completion.
During the session, officials received orders to extend Palamuru‑Rangareddy Lift Irrigation works up to Uddandapur. Bhatti pressed for full operations within the scheduled timeline. He made it clear delays would not be tolerated.
Present at the review were Irrigation Minister Jupalli Krishna Reddy and MLAs Kasireddy Narayana Reddy, Tudi Meghareddy, Kucchukulla Rajesh Reddy and Yennam Srinivas Reddy. Also in attendance were Vijay Bhaskar Reddy (Project CE) and other technical leads.
Bhatti emphasised transparent execution. He assigned timelines and said officials must monitor schedules closely. He reiterated that Krishna basin irrigation projects are vital to regional water security and agricultural stability.
Additionally, the meeting touched on integration with NITI Aayog’s Sampoornata goals, especially in areas of water, agriculture and infrastructure. Bhatti urged that irrigation planning must align with state welfare mandates.
