Hyderabad: Former Minister and BRS MLA T. Harish Rao on Saturday demanded the completion of Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (TIMS) hospitals in all four zones of Hyderabad within six months.
He warned that any delay beyond the deadline would spark a large-scale agitation.
Rao, along with former Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy, MLA D. Sudheer Reddy, MLAs K.P. Vivekanand and Kaleru Venkatesh, MLC Yadav Reddy, and other senior BRS leaders, inspected the ongoing work at TIMS LB Nagar.
He accused the Congress government of halting major health infrastructure projects for political reasons. “If KCR had a hundred-year vision, Congress is stuck in a sluggish mindset,” Rao said.
Furthermore, he alleged that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy failed to operationalize both TIMS and the Warangal Health City, despite completing two years in office. He also called the cancellation of medical colleges in Maheshwaram and Quthbullapur “outrageous.”
Rao sharply criticized the government for delaying salaries to Basti Dawakhana doctors and staff for over six months. “What happened to Revanth Reddy’s promise of salaries on the first of every month?” he asked.
In addition, he claimed the government withheld ₹1,400 crore in Arogyasri dues, which he said severely weakened the scheme. He further questioned the government’s failure to resume the Kanti Velugu eye-care program.
“Health services advanced under BRS, but are now regressing under Congress,” he said. Rao insisted on immediate action to complete TIMS hospitals and Warangal Health City. Otherwise, he warned, the public would be forced to rise in protest.
