KTR accuses Revanth Reddy of foul play during Jubilee Hills campaign

Hyderabad: BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) alleged that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy planned to win the Jubilee Hills bypoll through fake votes. He said the Chief Minister feared defeat in a fair contest. KTR made these remarks during a massive roadshow at Somajiguda on Tuesday night. The event formed part of his campaign for the BRS candidate.

KTR hits out at Congress during Jubilee Hills campaign

KTR urged voters to teach the Congress a lesson in the bypoll. He appealed to them to vote for the car symbol on November 11 and ensure a strong BRS victory. “If you want KCR to return, the victory must begin from Jubilee Hills,” he said.

He added that KCR had supplied free drinking water to every home. However, he alleged that the Congress government planned to end the free-water scheme after the GHMC elections. “Four crore people are watching the four lakh voters of Jubilee Hills,” KTR said. He described the bypoll as a choice between ten years of development and two years of crisis.

Meanwhile, KTR accused Revanth Reddy of deliberately blocking ₹10,000 crore in fee-reimbursement dues. “By stopping the scheme, the Chief Minister denied poor and middle-class students their right to higher education,” he said. Moreover, he alleged that the Congress government aimed to crush the hopes of backward families and weaken educated youth. “A Chief Minister who cannot pay students’ fees cannot serve Jubilee Hills residents,” he remarked.

KTR questions Congress on promises and demolitions

KTR also charged that Congress made 420 false promises before the 2023 elections and failed to fulfil any of them. “They deceived farmers, women, youth, and pensioners alike,” he said.

Further, he recalled that Congress had promised ₹4,000 pensions, ₹2,500 allowances for daughters-in-law, scooters for young women, ₹15,000 support for farmers, ₹2 lakh loan waivers, and two lakh government jobs. “Where are those promises now?” he asked.

In addition, KTR said the Congress government halted all welfare schemes introduced by the KCR government. These included Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bima, KCR Kits, Bathukamma sarees, and festival gifts for Ramzan and Christmas. He also alleged that Congress stopped free drinking water in Hyderabad. “They doubled bus fares for men while claiming free rides for women. Is this welfare?” he asked.

Finally, KTR alleged that the Congress government was demolishing poor people’s homes under the Hydra Initiative while sparing the rich. “They destroy huts in slums but ignore ministers’ bungalows. Is that justice?” he asked. Calling the bypoll a battle between the car and the bulldozer, he urged voters to “teach Congress a lesson on behalf of four crore betrayed people of Telangana.”
