KTR slams Congress for betraying minorities and aligning with BJP in Telangana

Hyderabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao has accused the Congress government of betraying minorities in Telangana by breaking welfare promises and forming an undeclared alliance with the BJP.

KTR cites broken promises, mocks Minority Declaration

At a meeting with minority leaders in Shamshabad on Monday, KTR said Congress made tall claims before the 2023 elections but delivered nothing. “They promised ₹4,000 crore a year for minority welfare and a Minority Sub-Plan. Two years later, neither has materialised — and even in three more years, they won’t deliver,” he said.

He recalled that the previous BRS government introduced the Shaadi Mubarak scheme with ₹1 lakh aid for poor brides. “Congress promised more but used minorities only as a vote bank,” he said.

KTR added that KCR had established residential schools for minorities, opened 34 medical colleges, and launched ₹20 lakh scholarships for overseas education. “No other Chief Minister in India has done as much for minorities,” he claimed.

Congress silent on bulldozer politics, follows BJP playbook

He said the BRS government spent ₹5,000 per Muslim for minority welfare — the highest in the country. “Even Asaduddin Owaisi praises our model in other states but stays silent here,” he added.

KTR questioned Rahul Gandhi’s silence over bulldozer politics in Telangana. “He attacks it in UP, but not here, where his own government is doing it,” he said.

He noted that 10 MLAs, including Rajendranagar MLA Prakash Goud, switched parties and still avoid saying where they belong. “Even Revanth Reddy never imagined he’d become CM. Today, when people are asked what he’s done in two years, they say only one thing — talk about KCR,” KTR said.

KTR alleges secret pact between Congress and BJP

The BRS leader said Revanth Reddy openly admits, “I studied in Modi’s school, went to Chandrababu’s college, and now work under Rahul Gandhi.” He mocked Congress for criticising central agencies while handing state cases to them. “Rahul calls ED and CBI Modi’s pocket agencies. Yet Revanth handed over the Kaleshwaram case to the CBI,” he said.

KTR cited the ED raids on Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy’s house, where currency-counting machines were brought in. “After all the drama, nothing happened. In return, Revanth’s relatives got central contracts, and BJP leaders benefit here. This is a joint Congress–BJP government,” he said.

He dismissed Congress’s record in power. “They only talk about free bus rides for women. But they’ve doubled ticket fares for men. That’s their governance,” he remarked.

KTR called for more minority meetings statewide. He urged voters to support BRS in the Jubilee Hills by-election on November 11. “We will win — the only question is the margin,” he said.
