HYDERABAD: Telangana Minister Jupally Krishna Rao has said that the state is home to tourism destinations of international standard, and a new tourism policy is being introduced under the leadership of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to attract investment, draw global tourists, boost the sector internationally, and create employment opportunities.
The Minister, along with Tourism Minister T. Nageshwar Rao, visited the Statue of Unity and other tourist sites in Gujarat. Speaking about the visit, Krishna Rao stated that Telangana aims to integrate itself into the broader framework of national and international tourism development. By studying successful tourism models and infrastructure elsewhere, the state is identifying opportunities to enhance its own offerings.
Learning from national models
The visit included a tour of the Statue of Unity and Tent City, where the ministers examined facilities and planning. Krishna Rao said that such visits allow Telangana to learn from other regions’ success stories and implement similar strategies for growth.
Focus on upcoming Pushkaralu
Highlighting the upcoming Godavari and Krishna Pushkaralu festivals scheduled for 2027 and 2028, the Minister said the state is making preparations to provide better facilities to pilgrims and visitors during these major religious events.
He stressed that all available opportunities are being leveraged to promote tourism development in Telangana, in alignment with the broader vision of the state government.

The ministers were accompanied by Tourism Development Corporation Chairman Patel Ramesh Reddy, Telangana Sports Authority Chairman Shivsena Reddy, and MLAs Narayan Reddy, B. Krishna Mohan Reddy, and Dr Rajesh Reddy during the visit.
